Hi everyone! Hopefully, all our full moon meditations got us to a higher level of consciousness.
On Thursday, May 1st the New Moon of Taurus will appear (we call the New Moon Rosh Chodesh). We will definitely notice a big energy shift since we are entering a much heavier time of the year.
Kabbalists teach that the entire month of Taurus is included in a specific time called "Sefirat Ha'Omer." In a nutshell, there are 49 days between the full moon of Aries (Pesach) and the fifth day of Gemini, which is another cosmic event called Shavuot. These 49 days are destined to help us build bigger and stronger desire in our lives.
Unfortunately, because it's all about us and our desire, the Light becomes hidden in this time period. It is similar to a parent proactively letting a child explore and grow on his own. If the child falls, he needs to pick himself up and learn to stand on his own.
The hidden Light can also be the place for negative behavior to fester. Therefore, our first tool in the survival kit of this week is to completely avoid any type of judgment. Right now we have to assume that we cannot clearly see everything that is really happening. So, we must use a lot more compassion and kindness, not only this week, but for the entire month!
Since we are bathing in a completely different cosmic Light, I'd like to share a few words about the sign and month of Taurus. This month is under the influence of Venus (Noga in Hebrew). Venus happens to be the foggiest planet of our solar system. It has extreme temperatures as well because of all the clouds, which create a greenhouse effect. Venus is the shiniest star in the night sky, yet its temperature and conditions are the worst! We can already sense a profound duality in this planet—the shiniest and the cloudiest at the same time. Good and bad entangled!
Venus is also connected to love and Taurus signs have real issues seeing the truth in love. Often times they fall in love with love itself, or make big judgment mistakes. The Tauran is notorious for staying in the worst relationships for a long time, even if abused! They will say, “I know my partner loves me (even if they have strange ways of showing it).” Because Taurus is also a fixed sign, expect blockages and delays during the whole month. So, guys, we need a lot of patience in our kits!
Remember, this is not a good time to start ANYTHING NEW. Don't panic if you need to look for a new house, research new clients, or go on a new date—no problem! Although, it is better to avoid buying a house or signing a mega contract during this month.
More specific to this week: we need to use the legendary patience of Taurus. This week’s chart is a bit out of control! The week starts with an Aries moon, a very strong Scorpio energy, and a lot of Pisces, since Venus is still in the sign of Pisces. This whole package places us in a situation where we want everything yesterday, and fall into victim mode if it doesn’t happen!
The goal is to stay balanced and anchored this week. I would suggest visiting nature or taking long walks in the park. It’s better to reconnect to Mother Earth than to try to fight our way through things this week. As it happens, the earthy Taurus energy will greatly help grounding our energies right now. We will notice a lot of edginess around us—people becoming angry and impatient. That’s why anchoring actions will help us overcome this heavy and edgy energy.
A good way to harness the Light of this week would be to volunteer to clean a park or beach, or any activity related to making our environment a better, "greener" place. As our teacher and Spiritual Director of the Kabbalah Centre, Karen Berg, explains, Mother Earth is a bit angry at the moment, so let’s invest some time in appreciating our planet this week.
This is by far the best way we can start our New Moon, in harmony with Mother Earth and with a better appreciation of everything our planet gives us. Consider a silent meditation in thanks for all the beneficence our blue planet gives us.
Let’s start our month on the right foot! Have a great, green week everyone!
Love,
Yael
