Hi Everyone! I hope we are all taking advantage of this new month of Sagittarius. This week is definitely a very significant one in our spiritual work and many opportunities will open to us this month.
Let's find out what's happening in the cosmos this week…
The first thing that jumps out at us is the significant quantity of signs controlled by Mars. Well, well… Aries moon and Scorpio planets. That doesn’t seem peaceful at all! On the other hand, Mercury is in strong Sagittarius and we will notice that the chart ends up half fire and half water again!
As we begin deciphering the cosmos, let’s keep an important fact in mind: Mercury in Sagittarius is not exactly the most tactful combination of the zodiac! We may perceive people around us as having a foot in their mouth all month! Unfortunately, the water energy, which is so strong right now, also makes us ultra-sensitive to criticism.
Strangely, Mars, who represents confrontation in the zodiac, is in peaceful Libra. So, here we are facing a Shakespearian choice: to confront or not to confront? To assist our tikkun (or karma), this week’s chart opens up exactly at ten degrees in Gemini – the very sign of communication! So, if and when we choose to talk, how do we do it in an optimal fashion?
Let me start by saying that it's very difficult for any of us to confront others proactively. It takes a lot of practice and a lot of understanding. Some of us confront others by kicking and screaming. Some are like yellow submarines, disappearing from the surface. Some choose to be passive aggressive, hoping things will go away by themselves. And of course, some of us go straight to victim.com!
Conclusion: ALL of us agonize over confrontations one way or another! Kabbalistically speaking, none of these behaviors are a good plan. No matter what group we belong to, there are ways to improve. Here are some spicy tips, straight from the kabbalists, to help us get better this week, and forever!
First: always check your facts! Simple enough, right? Not really. Sometimes we jump to conclusions because of a feeling or some vague impression.
Second: speak without judgment! The best way to confront someone is actually via a question. So, it will sound something like, "Ok dear, this and that has occurred. Can you tell me what happened? Walk me through your decision process."
Third (The most important of all): NEVER confront someone in public! Confrontations are better done over a cup of tea, in an office, or at the local coffee shop away from the eyes of others. Kabbalists teach that confronting someone in public creates negativity, since it can ruin their reputations, and leave them open to judgment by others. (The same goes for children! We can scold them a bit, but never in public.)
Fourth: Make it a team effort! You might say something like, "Ok, what are WE going to do to make it better?" Sometimes, we find that the person we are talking to is not up to their task. Then we should find a plan B.
This week is a very important part of our spiritual work. Surely, we will find ourselves with sweaty palms at first – an internal heat wave and profound discomfort! However, as kabbalists have taught us, the lack of comfort is there to help us grow.
We all know that failing to confront someone at the right time can lead us to total chaos. This week is an unbelievable opportunity to completely transform our communication, especially our confrontation skills. The cosmos supports all our efforts towards more dialogue and openness.
Have a wonderful week!
Love,
Yael
