Dear friends! Another exciting event is occurring this week. A very important portal opens up in the cosmos to give us a better opportunity to share: it’s the spiritual event called Sukkot.

Let's gaze at the stars to better understand what the kabbalists really mean by "holiday of mercy.”

This week’s chart is extremely watery (this has been a trend for a while now, so it’s not surprising). And the moon is located in compassionate Pisces to mark the beginning of the week. The energy of Libra is getting cosmically stronger with Mercury, now in Libra, but in opposition to Uranus in Aries. Neptune, Mercury, and Jupiter are engaged in an infamous T-square.

Enough with the astrology language! Now, let's translate what I've just said into lay terms.

The chart is pointing to a key issue in all of our lives and behavior: self-esteem.

It plays out in our lives in many different ways. For some of us who feel a bit out of place or inferior (usually without admitting it to ourselves), lack of self-esteem leads us to pull away from others, therefore pulling away from sharing opportunities. For others, it leads to unnecessary confrontations as we try to justify ourselves, or remaining silent when we should speak up, because we are unsure if what we want to say will be accepted or seen as ridiculous in the eyes of others.

Basically, we are complicating our lives with this self-esteem business big time, as pinpointed in the chart by the moon in Pisces—a compassionate, but very fearful feature this week.

The kabbalists, in their infinite wisdom, teach us that the whole concept of self-esteem is widely misunderstood. How so? Because self-esteem infers that I should compare myself to others, instead of comparing myself and my actions to the only person I can truly measure myself against: me!

Can a zebra compare itself to an elephant? Or a giraffe to a hyena? What would the criteria of such a comparison be? Very difficult to determine, right?

Well, believe it or not, our souls are giraffes, elephants, wolves, and more.

In other words, even though our souls emanate from the same Light and are made of the same spiritual atoms, they behave like antelopes or lions, depending on their kind! Interestingly, the portal that opens up this week of Sukkotbrings prayers and energy to all nations of the world.

In ancient times, sacrifices would be made in the Great Temple for the 70 nations of the world, in order to bring peace and receive energy for the whole year.

The word for war in ancient Aramaic is milchama, which comes from the word, lechem or bread. When a nation has a shortage of spiritual bread (energy), or physical bread (sustenance), the nation will enter into a conflict with another nation. What better time than this week to send Light and energy to all nations in trouble all over the globe? We can send Light to Syria, Iraq, Korea, Africa, and more as a tribute to the amazing Light that prevails right now in the cosmos.

So what are we going to do with the self-esteem thing? We all suffer from this spiritual illness to one degree or another. Kabbalists explain that Sukkot is an amazing time to tap into all our sharing abilities and expand them. Basically, we shouldn't be too busy with our "to be's or not to be's" this week! The truth is, our actions speak louder than words. Oftentimes, we don't need to say much about ourselves; we can let our actions speak for us.

On a practical level, what are we expected to do?

This week is THE week to get out of ourselves—go find a place to volunteer, lend a hand to a friend, or take on a community project.

Simultaneously, we need to realize that while we are all different, we still need the same Light and energy. So we need to work towards not judging others and extending a hand to the ones who are the most difficult for us to accept.

Wow, guys! Lots of work ahead of us, but what a reward in the end: becoming bigger, more global, and more sharing for the entire year! Totally worth it!

Have a wonderful sharing week everyone!

Love,

Yael
