A fire sign with an internal air element, there is a lot going on with Sagittarius.
Born under the most enthusiastic sign in the Zodiac, Sagittarians are always open to possibilities, striving to expand beyond their limitations. They are abstract thinkers, and yet life for a Sagittarian has to be meaningful and have a purpose. They know that there is a bigger picture to life and they have the ability to connect to it; therefore, they are very optimistic and have the ability to see the best in people. Sagittarians always seek the truth, and they often have the need to know everything and to be right.
According to Kabbalah, the energy of miracles is revealed in the sign of Sagittarius. This energy is available for each and every one of us in this month and in order to access it, we need to take a positive action, no matter how small that action may be. And sometimes it is hard for Sagittarians to take an action. They just know that everything is going to be all right.
For example, in the story of Chanukah, a small group of people went to war against a huge army. The underdogs knew the energy of Sagittarius to be one of miracles, and so they knew they could win. They had unity with one another and banished any doubts, and so they won the war against all odds.
Sagittarians are the justice fighters of the Zodiac. Our teacher, Rav Berg, taught that we can find justice in life only when there is balance. We study in Kabbalah that the Hebrew language is a universal language that radiates energy from which all humanity can benefit. Sagittarius and Jupiter rule through the Hebrew letters “Samech” and “Gimel” which have the energy to help us gain balance in this month. And in Hebrew, the planet Jupiter, which rules the sign of Sagittarius, is called “Tzedek,” meaning justice.
Once we have balance, we have unity, and when we have unity, miracles happen and justice is served. In this month, we can connect to the Holy of Holies, where balance, unity, and peace exist.
The month of Sagittarius brings challenges, as well. In the chart of the New Moon, we can still find a lot of planets in Scorpio. Scorpio’s rulers, Mars and Pluto, have a difficult relationship as they struggle for power and control, engaging in manipulation and jealousy. Venus in Scorpio adds to the strong desire to get what we want at any cost. Combined with the expansive energy of Sagittarius, this can bring a lot of anxiety.
Try to remember that this is the month that everything is possible, if we connect to unity and the energy of balance. If we deserve power, we will gain it, and if we want something in life, we can have it. But we won’t get it with anger, or with sadness, or with control. We will get what we want by connecting to the bigger picture – the understanding that what belongs to us will always come back to us. We need to connect to certainty and happiness.
Mercury in Sagittarius in the chart will encourage us to study and to teach and, with good a connection to the north node in Leo, will allow us to be leaders. So with a positive attitude we draw the positive energy that is available for us this month. With optimism and by connecting to the bigger picture, we can win over the uncertainty and extra sensitivity that is in the air.
