In 2018, The Kabbalah Centre supported the building of a primary school in Chalaula, Malawi. Before the Kabbalah Centre added a school block, the next nearest proper school in the village of Chalaula was a 10 km walk from the village. It could take a child hours to make this daily community to school, which can be dangerous particularly for girls. Today, the Chalaula School teaches all 153 students (73 boys and 80 girls) in the village
One inspiring story is of Edward Mackford; Edward Mackford is 13 years old and in the 2nd grade. Before BuildOn partnered with his village Edward had nowhere to attend school, resulting in delays in his education. Now in school, his favorite subject is math and he wants to be a teacher when he grows up. With your support, Edward is now much more likely to achieve his dream and break the cycle of poverty, illiteracy and low expectations.
