There are times in our life that we are asked to step outside of our comfort zone—times when we are asked to do things that are either inconvenient or unpleasant, perhaps for another person, or in our spiritual work, or in a relationship, or in any other area.
These instances, in reality, are opportunities for us to deposit energy into our spiritual bank account so that we can withdraw this energy down the line when it is necessary.
It is human nature to say, “I’ll do it tomorrow,” or “I don’t need to do it.”
It is human nature to find excuses why whatever needs to be done doesn’t have to be done by me.
But when we miss these opportunities to go that extra (uncomfortable) mile, we will find that when the time comes when we need that extra boost, when we need that spiritual awakening, we won’t have the strength that we could have had, if only we had put ourselves to a little inconvenience and risen a little bit above our limited field of vision.
Today, make an effort to go outside of your comfort zone. Care more for others. Go the extra mile on behalf of someone else. All of that energy you devote to others today will come full circle to benefit you some time in the future.
The energy we share always comes full circle.
