Tonight marks the fifteenth of the month of Aquarius, the day known as Tu B’Shevat, the birthday of the trees. It is the 24 hour window in time in which the trees receive their energy for the entire year--whether they will grow and whether fruits will grow from them.
The most marvelous thing about trees is that they sprout and flourish against gravity. Green is a color that represents growth and healing, so it is no wonder that trees, defying the weight of this physical world, spread out into this beautiful green foliage.
Trees grow like we are supposed to: against our nature. What do I mean by that? Well essentially, our human nature is this Desire to Receive for the Self Alone. As we grow against it, we become like the Creator, who is all sharing, good, and completely infinite. As we become like the Creator, we rise above those negativities that hold us back from our potential.
Tu B’Shevat (15th of Aquarius) correlates to the fifteenth of the month of Leo. It is directly opposite to that day on the wheel of the zodiac. Why do I tell you that? Well, as some of you may know, the fifteenth of the month of Leo, known as Tu B’Av, is one of the most positive and joyous days of the whole year. It is the day of soulmates, marriages, celebrations, and gaiety.
Tu B’Shevat is also a day of joy and union, because on this day we can receive the energy to rise above those things that hold us down, uniting with our own divinity.
