Lesson Highlights

  •  The literal story speaks of waging war and taking a beautiful woman captive
  • The true war is a battle of consciousness: not an external enemy but the Opponent within
  • The Opponent tries to make us think there are many external battles
  • Waging war against our selfishness gives us the strength to remember the Light within us
  • Doubt: Forgetting that the Light is within us
  • Recognizing the beautiful woman as our pure soul
  • Layers of external reactions and deeper layers of insecurity and lack surround our soul
  • Different ways we compensate for our insecurities
  • Exposing our insecurities and not reacting to them
  • Developing a deeper trust in the Light in our moments of darkness
  • The two sources that all of our actions come from: our insecurity or our desire to transform
  • Using the tools to see our insecurites beyond what is capable with the logical mind

Lesson Description

The portion of Ki Tetze is always read during the month of Virgo and reveals to us the true battle we face every day. Join Eitan as he explores the metaphor used in the Bible of the beautiful woman taken captive during a war. This strange Biblical imagery reveals how our only battle is against our own selfish desires.  By recognizing that our selfishness comes from our insecurities and doubt, we are able to connect to our pure soul therefore transforming the way we live.
